Ruth Ann Weddig Ruth Ann Weddig, 83, of Campbellsport, died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born on Sept. 10, 1920 to the late Fred and Linda (Wornardt) Schleif on the family homestead in the town of Auburn. On June 27, 1944 she married Otto A. Weddig at the Campbellsport United Church of Christ. He passed away on July 21, 1994. Ruth graduated from the Fond du Lac Commercial Business College and then worked as a sales clerk for J.L. Rosenheimer in Kewaskum. She later worked as a bookkeeper for the First State Bank of Campbellsport. From 1968 to 2002 she worked for the Kewaskum School District as a teacher’s and library aide at the Wayne and Kewaskum elementary schools, where she also did playground supervision which she greatly enjoyed. Ruth was very active at the Campbellsport United Christian Church where she was treasurer and a teacher for the Sunday school, a Bible school teacher, member of the building committee, the Women’s Guild and the camp secretary for the Modern Woodmen. She was an avid fisherman, shopper and gardener and was involved with the family farm. Ruth enjoyed traveling with her dear friend, Evie Thiemer, feeding the birds and spending time at her cottage on Pelican Lake. She greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Survivors include her children, Ruth (Lamont) Carpenter of New London, William (Lynne) Weddig of Fish Creek, Alice (Robert) Krahn of Beechwood and Ann (Robert) Szalkowski of Blue Mounds; her grandchildren, Corey (Jody) Krahn, Kelly Krahn, Aaron and Maria Szalkowski, and Casey, Kelsey and Kayllee Weddig; her great-grandson, Jake Neuenfeld; her brother, Roger (Joyce) Schleif of Campbellsport, and their children, Jeffrey (Pam) Schleif, Susan Boldig, Sandra (Rick) Brown and Tracey (Jim) Schaub; and her sisters-in-law, Evie Jansen and Lillian Keaster, both of West Bend, Ella Weddig of Hartford, Rose Weddig of Oshkosh and Lucille Weddig of Elk Grove. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Campbellsport United Christian Church. Rev. Stevens Hilyard will officiate, and burial will be on Wednesday in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation at the church will be on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials are appreciated to the Campbellsport United Christian Church or Hospice Hope. The Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family.
