Violet B. Westphal
Violet B. Westphal (nee Borchert) of West Bend passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003 at her residence. She was 76 years old. She was born on Sept. 3, 1927 in Washington County to Arthur E. and Arabella (nee Ganns) Borchert. Raised in Dodge County, she graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1946, and married Edgar C. Westphal on Sept. 16, 1950 at St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church, Ashippun. The couple moved to West Bend in 1958 where she was a devoted mother and wife through raising her family. She was a dedicated employee at The West Bend Co. for 20 years. Violet was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, Aid Association for Lutherans and Modern Woodmen of America Camp #9005. She is survivors by three sons, Douglas (Rose Ann) Westphal of Boltonville, Michael (Charlene) Westphal of West Bend and Terry (Dawn) Westphal of West Bend; four grandchildren, Eric, Jenny, Cassandra and Travis Westphal; three sisters, Delores Allen of Tucson, Ariz., Laura Dahm of West Bend and Ruth (Jerry) Hayes of Hartford; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, on March 25, 2001; a brother; and two brothers-in-law, Sandy Allen and Richard Dahm. Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, with Rev. James R. Ziesemer officiating. Visitation was at the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Interment was at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Washington County Memorial Park.
