Hattie C. Behnke of West Bend, formerly of the town of Herman, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center. She was 101 years old.

She was born on June 13, 1902 in the town of Herman to William and Ella (nee Schott) Hahn. On Sept. 19, 1923, she married Erwin Behnke at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Huilsburg. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Trinity Church choir, Trinity Ladies Aid and Senior Friends of Hartford.

She is survived by her two children, Ervin F. (Betty) Behnke of Horicon and Janice L. Schneider Bruskewitz of West Bend; one sister-in-law, Marion Behnke; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin, in 1985; two brothers, Herbert and William Jr.; two sisters, Anita Wagner and Florence Dobberphul; one great-grandchild, Andy Weber; and two sons-in-law, Donald Schneider and Harry Bruskewitz.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Huilsburg, with Rev. Daniel R. Falck officiating. Visitation was on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Interment Trinity Cemetery, Huilsburg.
