Helen Marie Weinert
Helen Marie Weinert, nee Bremser, 85, of West Bend was called to her heavenly home on Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend. Helen was born on August 29, 1917 on the Bremser homestead in the town of Farmington to the late John and Susan (Berres) Bremser. Helen retired from the Samaritan after 23 years of service as the occupational therapy department supervisor. Helen was a member of Holy Angels Parish. Her family was her main focus. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was artistic and talented. She enjoyed braiding rugs, every kind of needlework and crafts, quilting, cooking, traveling to northern Wisconsin and spending hours in her beautiful garden. Survivors include four children, Ann (Mitchell) Gebheim of Kewaskum, Suzanne (Herb) Tennies of West Bend, Kathleen (Raymond) Zernia of Kewaunee and Joel Weinert of Hayward; ten grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Gleason, Mitchell (Nicole) Gebheim, Todd (Lisa) Tennies, Terry (Peggy) Tennies, David (Sherry) Tennies, Tricia (Gary) Held, Steven Tennies, Lynn (Dale) Schmidt, Jill (Michael) Waala and Jennifer (Kevin) Loomis. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, Alexandra Gleason; Lauren, Alyssa, Mary, Ben, Julia, Jack and Megan Tennies; Drew, Bryce and Mary Kate Schmidt; Grant and Evan Waala; David and Adam Loomis. They will all miss their beloved "Grandma Blackie." She is also survived by her sisters, Celeste Meilinger and Angeline Plzak of West Bend, Lenore Goerke of Ft. Myers, Fla., Mary (Robert) Brauchle of Montello; brothers, Frank Bremser of White Lake and Earl Bremser of West Bend; sister-in-law Althea (Frank) Falter of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding Helen in death were her parents, John and Susan (Berres) Bremser; a sister Gertrude Koll; brother Alois Bremser; sister-in-law Rose Bremser; brothers-in-law, George Meilinger, Joseph Koll, James Plzak, Kenneth Goerke; and granddaughter, Mary Tennies. Despite her illness, Helen remained a pillar of strength for her family and faced the end of her life on earth with courage and never-ending faith. A memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth Ave. West Bend, on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at 11 a.m., with Father Gerald Brittain officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m., and immediately after the service in Holy Angels Church hall. Inurnment will be at St. Michael's, where she was baptized 85 years ago. Memorials to Holy Angels Parish or St. Michael's Parish will be appreciated. The Philip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family. We would like to thank Heartland Hospice, third floor nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital and all other caregivers who took such loving care of our mom and her family.
