Karen L. Berling

Karen L. Berling, nee Krahn, 57, of Hartford, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1945 in Hartford to Milton and Helen (nee Schultz) Krahn, and married Gary Berling on Oct. 23, 1965 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hartford.

Karen worked at the Sycamore Tree in Hartford for nine years and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

She loved to read, enjoyed taking walks and going out to concerts and movies.

Survivors include her husband; six children, Michael of Jackson, Wendy (Paul) Rousseau of Hartford, Angela (Dan) Lauer of Sussex, Shawn, Jennifer and Keri Berling, all of Hartford; a granddaughter, Anna; her mother, Helen Krahn of Hartford; her mother-in-law, Alita Berling of Hartford; a brother, Kenneth (Camille) Krahn of Lomira; a sister, Rosalyn (Bud) Sperling of Germany; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a son, Shane Allen Berling; her father, Milton Krahn; and her father-in-law, Arthur Berling.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford.

Rev. Daniel Wieske will officiate, and interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
