Carmello "Chuck" Sardina A memorial Mass for Carmello "Chuck" Sardina will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3 at St. Robert Catholic Church in Shorewood. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Mr. Sardina died in Florida on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002 from complications of chronic bronchial asthma and pneumonia. Mr. Sardina worked for the Borden Dairy Co.; however, he is better remembered for the 15 years of owning and operating Sardi’s of Mequon with his wife Marie (Carini) Sardina. After his wife passed away in 1989, he continued to operate Sardi’s Catering at Festa Italiana. He moved to Debary, Fla., seven years ago to enjoy the warmer temperatures and do volunteer work at Fish Memorial Hospital. He had always dreamed of being a teacher, due to his special love for children. Survivors include: children Charles (Theresa) Sardina, Rosemarie Morelli; grandchildren Cara and Chad Sardina and Michael and Stephen Morelli; great-granddaughter Alyssa Morelli; sisters Mary Pietrangelo (John) Biloxi, Miss., Ann Raffaelle (Carmello) Milwaukee; brothers John, Deltona, Fla., Joe (Rose) Grafton, Jim (Mary) Greenfield. Further survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his father Gaitano, mother Antonina of Aspra, Sicily; brothers Tony and Salvator (Ted). His family feels that his devotion to his family, his uplifting, always positive attitude and the extraordinary ways he touched the lives of all who knew him will keep him close in the hearts of many. |
