Mary B. Horn Mary B. Horn, nee Burtner, 84, of West Bend, died on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital. She was born on Feb. 15, 1918, in Illinois to the late Walter and Mary Alice (Rolison) Burtner. She was the youngest of seven, half-sister of seven and the stepsister of seven (family of 21 children). Mary moved to Chicago at an early age. After her marriage to William W. Horn Jr. III on Nov. 14, 1942 in Chicago, Ill., the couple lived in the Chicago area while her husband served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They moved to the West Bend area in the early 1940s. She was a proud member of The West Bend Co. and its 25-Year Club, retiring in the early 1980s. Mary was a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, the Young at Heart Club, Golden Vagabonds, various card clubs and bowling leagues. She loved making crafts and was an exceptional seamstress. Her husband passed away on Nov. 12, 1981. Survivors include two children, William (Dianne) of Rutheron, N.M. and Mary Kay (Thomas) Feiter of West Bend; five grandchildren, Lisa Arnold, Linda (Tim) Lindstrom, William (Claudette) Horn, Kimberly Feiter (Timothy Hartley) and Craig (fiancee Jenny Hartzell) Feiter; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Mueller of Pembine and Irene Schaefer of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were a best friend, William, many sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Verlin M. Wandrey will officiate, and interment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to the American Heart Association are appreciated.
