Mrs. Sunstrom was born April 14, 1936 in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Gunnar and Fia, Swedish homesteaders. The family returned to Sweden on the Christmas boat in 1938. She grew up in Orebo, Sweden, and married Lars Carlson in 1955. Their children, Carina and Peter, were born in Sweden. They immigrated to the United States in 1960 where daughter Eva-Lisa (David) Neske was born in 1965.

The couple operated a blacksmith shop in Mequon until Lars’ death in 1979. Mrs. Sunstrom married Eric Sunstrom in 1989 and enjoyed life in Cedarburg.

The joys of her life were her children and grandchildren Clayton Neske, Lars Neske and Andrenne Alsum. She is further survived by stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

She enjoyed gardening, nature and painting and was an active member of the Cedarburg Artist Guild.

She was diagnosed with untreatable cancer in 1991. On her 60th birthday she invited her friends and family to a survival and birthday party to dance and enjoy life.
