Edward "Eddie" A. Laydon

A funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 15, at Community United Methodist Church in Cedarburg for Edward "Eddie" A. Laydon, of Grafton, who died on Dec. 12, 2002, at the age of 81. Rev. Pete Peterson officiated at the funeral service, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Interment took place at Breitung Township Cemetery in Quinnesec, Mich.

Mr. Laydon was born on Sept. 30, 1921, in Iron Mountain, Mich. to the late John Layden and the late Emma Gunderson. He married Eleanor Gorrell on July 5, 1947 at the First Methodist Church in Iron Mountain, Mich. He worked as a fork lift driver for the Schlitz Brewery in Milwaukee and was a member of the Brewery Workers Local No. 9. Mr. Laydon served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Survivors include: wife Eleanor "Ellie" (nee Gorrell) of Grafton; children Jeffrey (Susan) Laydon of Sanford, Fla. and Cheryl (Bruce) Dethloff of Lake Villa, Ill.

Further survived by four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
