Roman P. Loof

Roman P. Loof, 81, formerly of the town of Scott, passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born on July 28, 1921 in Saukville, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Roden) Loof, and on Feb. 27, 1943 married Virginia Jacoby at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville.

She passed away on Aug. 30, 1997.

Roman was employed by Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for over 35 years, and was a member of St. John of God Catholic Church in the town of Farmington.

Survivors include six children, Ronald (Christine) of Campbellsport, Richard (Susan) of Helenville, Judi (Wayne) Meins of Port Washington, Jayne Mayer of Plymouth, Joanie (Roy) Peterson of Slinger and Jacky (Daniel) Berndt of Markesan; a sister, Millie Plasil of South Milwaukee; five sisters-in-law, Florence Loof, Marie Loof, Aileen Wiltgen, Kathleen Jacoby and Dorothy Jacoby; a special member of the family, AFS student Linette Martinez of Panama; 29 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a special companion, his cat Holly; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were nine brothers and sisters.

Roman was a faithful Brewers fan. He enjoyed playing sheeps-head, checkers, shaking dice, farming and gardening. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and playing games.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. at St. John of God Catholic Church, town of Farmington, following a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum.

Fr. Tom Coyle will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.
