Hattie E. Steger, nee Hass, 82, of West Bend, died on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1920 in Colton, S.D. to the late Julius and Helen (nee Mayer) Hass and married John Steger on June 20, 1942 in Chester, S.D.

Hattie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid and the Samaritan Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; two children, Carmen (Richard) Paulus of Melrose Park, Ill. and Robert of West Bend; two grandchildren, Jessica and Brent; a sister, Audrey (John) Van Duyn of Madison, S.D.; a brother, Ralph (LaVonne) Hass of Madison, S.D.; two sisters-in-law, Frances Steger of Mequon and Martha Hespe of Cedarburg; three nieces, Sharon, Barbara and Marilyn; two nephews, Russell and Gary; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Carmen Hass in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend.

Rev. Terry Berg of Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
