He was born on March 10, 1915, on the family homestead farm in the town of Barton to the late John and Mary (nee Matenaer) Pastors, and married Frances Jansen on June 18, 1938 at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, West Bend.

His wife passed away on May 29, 1982.

Joseph lived and farmed on the family farm his entire life until retiring and moving to Tri-Manor in 1991.

He was a life-long member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, West Bend.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Leo) Dornacker and Donna Bichler, both of West Bend; five grandchildren, Joel (Patti) Dornacker of Richfield, Jon Dornacker, John (Cathy) Bichler, Jamie Bichler and Jason Bichler, all of West Bend; three great-grandchildren, David, Ben and Erin; three sisters, Loretta (Ray) Bales of Hartford, Marie (Alex) Bales and Rose Mary Bingen, both of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Henry Pastors; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Pastors; and a brother-in-law, Delbert Bingen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, West Bend.

Rev. Patrick Wendt will be the presider, and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Bend.

Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend, will be Tuesday after 4 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
