Louise Ida Otto

Louise Ida Otto, nee Mand, 85, of Oregon, Wis., formerly of West Bend, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002 at her residence at Sienna Crest of Oregon.

She was born to Arthur and Marie (Kampe) Mand on March 4, 1917 in Milwaukee.

She married Paul H. Otto on June 14, 1947 in West Bend.

Louise was born and raised in Milwaukee where she lived until she married Paul in 1947.

They moved to West Bend where they had three children, Doug, Don and Sue. When the kids were in school, Louise began pursuing her business career at the Department of Social Services in West Bend, where she worked for 22 years until her retirement in 1985. When Louise retired, she was the private secretary to the director and the administrative assistant who supervised the clerical unit.

While living in West Bend, Louise and her family belonged to the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church and were involved in the Lions Club for many years.

In the fall of 1999, Louise moved to Sienna Crest in Oregon to be closer to her family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sienna Crest for the wonderful care they gave her during her last days.

She is survived by three children, Douglas Paul (Marjorie) Otto of Madison, Donald Jon (Karen) of Hampton, N.H. and Suzanne Marie Otto Murphy of Oregon; six grandchildren; a great grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doris Herzberg; and her husband, Paul.

A memorial service will be Saturday (today) at 11 a.m. at the Phillip Funeral Chapel of West Bend with Rev. Verlin M. Wandrey officiating. Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services. Interment of ashes will be at Memorial Park of West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute at the UW Medical School in Madison will be appreciated.
