Helen M. Reitmeyer

Helen M. Reitmeyer (nee Dzirbik) 87, of West Bend died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born on March 30, 1915 in Milwaukee to the late Stephan and Jessie (nee Pollasik) Dzirbik. In 1950, Helen was married to Wilbert Reitmeyer in Milwaukee. Together they resided in Milwaukee until moving to Wauwatosa in 1954.

He preceded her in death in 1991. In 1992, she moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend and resided there until entering the Health Care Center.

Helen was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend. Helen enjoyed sewing and operated an alterations shop out of her home for many years. Her skill was well known by numerous families in the Milwaukee area and included many brides’ wedding dresses.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Judith) Bornslaeger of Wauwatosa and S. Richard (Nan) Bornslaeger of Munising, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Dzirbik of Brookfield; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Simek; and a brother, Edward Dzirbik.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend. Rev. Michael Petersen will be the presider. Visitation will be Monday at the church only from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Cremation will take place at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, West Bend, with the cremated remains being entombed at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Church or the American Red Cross are appreciated by the family.
