Jeffrey F. Berndt, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 40 years old.

He was born April 16, 1962 in Hartford to Fred and Ruth (nee Wuensch) Berndt.

Jeff was a volunteer fire fighter for the Woodland Fire Department and worked at United Co-op for 11 years, Albrecht View Farms, on the family farm. He enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling and playing softball.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Fred and Nancy Berndt; two brothers, James and Jason, both of Hartford; sister Julie Munster of Texas; step-brother Scott (Lisa) Ziorgen of Horicon; three step-sisters, Amy (Gary) Gehl of Hartford, Michelle (Chad) Baumgartner of Hartford, and Marie Medla of Crystal Lake Ill; his maternal grandmother, Erna Wuensch of West Bend; six nieces, Danielle, Alicia, Amanda, Emilee, Amber and Jenna; and four nephews, David, Lucas, Jarid and Mason. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother Ruth; Grandpa Berndt and Grandpa Wuensch.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford with Rev. David Wietzke officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends Saturday at the Shimon Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Internment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Huilsburg.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society or Peace Lutheran Church are appreciated.
