Irene Karls
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. today, at St. Francis Borgia South, Cedarburg for Irene Karls of Cedarburg, who died on Nov. 30, 2002, at the age of 94. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church today from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is assisting the family with arrangements. She was born Aug. 12, 1908 in Milwaukee, daughter of William and Magda Peterson Wolf. On Nov. 23, 1927 she married Michael Karls at Gesu Church in Milwaukee. Mrs. Karls worked as a supervisor at Milwaukee Plastics for 21 years, retiring in 1967. She was a member of St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church, the Christian Women, enjoyed homemaking, gardening and was an avid card player. Survivors include: sons Dean E. Karls of Port Washington and Dale W. Karls of California, grandsons Lt. Col. Christopher D. Karls of Alexandria, Va., and Dr. Jeffrey P. (Dannette) Karls of Fischer, Penn.; great-grandchildren Alexandria and Maxwell Karls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael and son Donald. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
