Willard H. Zolltheis

Willard H. Zolltheis, 87, of Sheboygan, died on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002. following a prolonged illness.

Willard was born Dec. 31, 1914 in Colby, to the late Henry and Anna (Kamman) Zolltheis.

He attended Howards Grove High School, graduating in 1933. Following high school he attended and graduated from Stout University.

On Sept. 16, 1944 he was united in marriage to Marian E. Christel of Valders.

He was an army veteran of World War II serving in New Guinea with the Red Arrow 32nd Division. Following this service he and Marian returned to Sheboygan.

Willard taught auto mechanics and drivers education at the Sheboygan Vocational School and Lakeshore Technical College.

In his retirement years he enjoyed repairing small engines at home and spending his winters in Arizona.

Willard was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, a lifetime member of Wolf-Olson VFW Post 1230, the National Retired Teachers Association and the YMCA.

Survivors include his wife, Marian; four daughters, June Zolltheis of Fond du Lac, Barbara (Joe) Canfield of Slinger, Mary (Bob) Boerner of Sheboygan and Deborah (Scott) Schwalbe of Rhinelander; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Helga) Canfield, Bryan (Margie) Canfield, Teresa (Tim) Stortz, Michael Boerner, Laura Boerner (fiance’ Jason Lorier), Amy Schwalbe and Ryan Schwalbe; four great- grandchildren, Alex and Abbey Canfield, Joshua and Jessica Stortz; a brother, Harold (Jeanette) Zolltheis of Howards Grove; three sisters, Bernice Buechel of Howards Grove, Florence Hinz of Valders and Ione (Clem) Rammer of Sheboygan.

Funeral services for Willard will be held 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2 at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, Sheboygan.

Rev. David Taylor, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, will officiate, and private interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home, 1535 S. 12th St. on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of service

In preference to flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Willard's name that will benefit the Books for the Blind and the American Diabetes Association.

Willard's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the third floor staff at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Drs. Schwalbach and Murphy, the staff at the VA Clinic and the staff at Meadowview Manor Nursing Home.
