Ruth Secora

Funeral Services were held on Nov. 27 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redgranite for Ruth Secora, who died on Nov. 22, 2001 at the age of 88. The Rev. Gregory Sluke officiated at the ceremony. She was laid to rest beside her husband, Harold, in the Foster Road Cemetery, Redgranite. The Ruminski Funeral Home of Redgranite assisted the family

Mrs. Secora was born Jan. 26, 1913 in Spring Lake, the daughter of Emil and Lilah (Quimby) Larson. She married Harold H. Secora Aug. 28, 1930 in Wautoma. Harold preceded Ruth in death April 24, 1980.

She lived in Milwaukee from 1941 until 1971 when she returned to Lohrville following her retirement from the Master Lock Company. She loved to bowl and won many trophies. She also enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her clothes. She was the first queen of the annual Redgranite Golden Alumni Reunion, held as part of the Labor Day Celebration. She was a faithful member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Redgranite.

Survivors include: son Robert (Dorothy) Secora of Ocala, Fla.; daughter Carole (Rudolf) Thinschmidt of Grafton; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Further survived by her sister, Helen (the Late Edmund) Marshall of Oshkosh, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Harold, Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Charles "Chuck" and Virginia Larson, and a brother-in-law, Edmund Marshall.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Richard Sternke and the staff at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma for the wonderful care she received.

A memorial has been established for the Redgranite Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
