Muriel L. Worzalla-Skopek

Muriel L. Worzalla-Skopek, nee Waitzmann, 78, of West Bend, formerly of Cedarburg, died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Milwaukee, to the late Frederick and Alma (Krueger) Waitzmann, and married John A. Worzalla on Sept. 18, 1943, in Milwaukee.

After their marriage the couple lived in Milwaukee and moved to Cedarburg in 1956. Her husband passed away on June 27, 1979.

On Oct. 5, 1985, she married Michael Skopek at St.Francis Catholic Church of Cedarburg. He passed away in August, 1995.

She moved to Cedar Ridge, West Bend, in 1990.

She was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church of West Bend, and was very active in various organizations, including the Legion of Mary, Women's Aglow, and was a volunteer at Lasata Place of Peace, Cedar Lake Home and Cedar Ridge.

Survivors include five children, John (Corinne) Worzalla of Indianapolis, Ind., Gloria (Michael) Zehner-Berner of West Bend, Marilyn (Jim) Erickson of Springfield, Mo., Ken (Betty) Worzalla of Fredonia and Mike (Sue) Worzalla of Cedarburg; five stepchildren, Jerry (Chris) Skopek of Cedarburg, Jim (Carol) Skopek of Troy, Mich., Sue (Dean) Schlapman of Pardeeville, John (Roselyn) Skopek of Germantown and Brian Skopek of Milwaukee ; 43 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita (Glen) Shafer and Carol (Pat) McNally, both of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Kenneth, Ernie (Judy) and Frank (Barb), all of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were three sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church of West Bend.

Father Patrick Wendt will officiate, and interment will be in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery.

Visitation at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Monday from 9 a.m. until closing of the casket prayers at 10 a.m.
