Edmund J. "Ed" Sauer
Edmund J. "Ed" Sauer, 72, of the town of Wayne, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born Aug. 26, 1929, in the town of Rubicon, Dodge County, to the late Edward and Rose (Ritger) Sauer, and graduated from Dodge County public schools. After his marriage to Delores E. Dornacker on Aug. 2, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, the couple lived in the town of Wayne. He worked for various companies, including Fellenz Spray Painting of West Bend, Johnson Building Movers of Slinger, and later Super Excavators of Menomonee Falls for over 30 years, retiring in 1991. Ed was very active as a church secretary for 13 years and as an usher. He was a past member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a member of Resurrection Catholic Church of Allenton, the Loyal Order of Moose #1393 of West Bend and the Laborers Union Local 113 of Milwaukee. Survivors include his wife; five children, Kathleen Miller of Waupaca, Christine (Charles) Dudarenke of Fond du Lac, John (Karrie Ann) Sauer of Allenton, Kelly (Mike Syman) Sauer of Menomonee Falls and Kerry (Mike) Gindt of Kohlsville; a granddaughter, Jamie Rose Dudarenke of Fond du Lac; three sisters, Marion Lemke, Helen (Jim) Charlton and Rosemary (Ray) Zimdars, all of West Bend; two brothers, Roman (Ruth) Sauer of Sun Prairie and Frank (Debbie) Sauer of Horicon; three aunts, Erna Bastian of West Bend, Viola Nickel of Mayville and Margaret Wilson of Portage; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were a son, Joseph; a brother, Roland; and a brother-in-law, Albert Lemke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church. Father Richard Breitbach will officiate, and interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allenton. Visitation at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
