Alfred F. Hardegen

Alfred F. Hardegen, 98, of West Bend, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at his residence.

He was born on April 30, 1903, in the town of Trenton, to the late Peter and Rose (nee Prevost) Hardegen, and married Alice Meyer in December, 1927. She passed away on June 2, 1983.

He was employed at the White House Milk Co. for many years, and after his retirement also worked for Jaeger Construction.

Alfred loved children and his dog, Babe. He was an avid baseball fan and played in city baseball leagues for many years.

He also enjoyed gardening and walking.

Survivors include four children, Joyce (Hank) Waldeck of West Bend, Rose Ahsinger of San Diego, Calif., Mona Voigt of Grafton and Richard (Joyce) Hardegen of West Allis; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Jean Hardegen; two brothers, John Hardegen and Roman Hardegen; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend.

Rev. David Schoob of Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
