Arthur F. Koepsell
Arthur F. Koepsell, 77, of Hartford, was taken to heaven on the wings of angels to be with his Lord. He lost his battle with cancer on Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Hartford Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born Feb. 19, 1924, in the town of Herman to the late Christian and Agnes (nee Quandt) Koepsell, and married Marjorie Ann Zirbel on Dec. 13, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church, Theresa. Art was baptized and confirmed at trinity Lutheran Church, Huilsburg. He served his country as a special agent in the Army's 970th Counter Intelligence Corps in Germany. He was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford, served on the church council and board of education and was an an usher for many years. Art was a member of the Bricklayers Local #8 Milwaukee until the time of his death. He was also a member of the Hartford Senior Friends. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Fredrick) Grulke and Wendy (Frank) Feucht, both of Mayville; two sons, James (Jean) and Gary (Christine), both of Hartford; 15 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Sarah, Shawn, Melinda, Jason, Craig, Jennifer, Brenda, Kelly, Kyle, Benjamin, Brooke, Brittany and Brent; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Norbert (Lorraine) Koepsell of Horicon; a sister, Loretta Giese of Mayville; four brothers-in-law, William (Gerladine) Zirbel of Iron Ridge, David Zirbel of Hartford, Richard (Judy) Zirbel of Waukesha and Dale (Gloria) Derge of Beaver Dam; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Preceding him in death were his wife; a daughter, Donna; a sister-in-law, Shirley and a brother-in-law, Clarence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford. Rev. Daniel Westendorf will officiate, and interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and at the church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church are appreciated.
