Kenneth M. Erler

Kenneth M. Erler, 80, of Jackson died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend.

He was born to Walter (Helen Weber) Erler on Dec. 7, 1921 in Milwaukee and raised in West Bend. He married Virginia Hassmer on June 27, 1953, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend.

After the marriage, the couple lived in Mayfield. He was a welder for the West Bend Equipment Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1988. He also worked as a disk jockey for WTKM, using the air name of Ken Scott for 12-1/2 years.

He was a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church of West Bend, and enjoyed working on cars, photography and especially the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Erler of Jackson; two children, Cindy Martin (friend Max Brown) of Green Bay and Tim Erler of Jackson; family, Sandy (Robert) Fretschel of Waupun, Candee (Steve) Smith of McFarland, and Joy Rouse of Rothschild; three grandchildren, Jennifer Smith of Jamaica Plain, Mass., Jeremey Smith of Madison and Ryan Rouse of Rothschild; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Hassmer of Jackson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Kevin Erler.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church of West Bend with Rev. William L. Dushek officiating. Visitation will be at the church only from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001.

Interment will take place at the Washington County Memorial Park following the service.
