Robert Charles Johnson

A memorial service was held at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton, on Sunday, Dec. 16, with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grafton, for Robert Charles Johnson, who died on Dec. 13, 2001 at the age of 78, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Tomahawk, after an extended illness.

Mr. Johnson was born on Nov. 7, 1923, in Rockdale/Madison, to the late Ingvald Johnson and the late Hannah (Bjoras) Johnson.

He worked as a carpenter/contractor, farmer, and mechanic in Marshall. He and his wife moved to Tomahawk in semi-retirement in 1972, to be closer to nature and recreation.

Survivors include: daughters Marilyn Skolaski of Tomahawk, Betty (Robert) Pound of Merrill, Trudy Mandel of Grafton; grandchildren Brian and Mark Skolaski of Tomahawk, Rob Skolaski of Merrill, Becky (Joe) Miller of Bowlingbrook, Ill., Robert (Georgette) Paxton of Appleton, Travis Pound of Milwaukee, Todd Mandel of La Crosse, and Ed Mandel of Grafton; seven great-grandchildren and one brother John (Jean) Johnson of Cottage Grove.

Besides his wife, Helen, and parents, Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Annabelle Thorstad.
