A. Lepien Edward A. Lepien, 93, of Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his residence. He was born Aug. 22, 1908, in the town of Erin to the late Edward and Laura (nee Guerndt) Lepien, and married Anita Schwamb on Sept. 30, 1931 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Edward was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hartford. He loved farming; it was his work, his hobby and his joy. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Marilyn Schauer of Hartford, Janet (Marvin) Moldenhauer of Iron Ridge and Carol (Roger) Fink of Mayville; a son, Ned (Carolyn) Lepien of Hartford; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were a son-in-law, Orville Schauer; a sister, Verna (William) Roemer; a brother, Norman (Alice) Lepien; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. Pastor Arv Arveson will officiate, and interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First United Methodist Church are appreciated.
