Harland "Red" Laird Jr.

Harland "Red" Laird Jr., 65, of Saukville, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born on March 30, 1936, in Shiocton to Harland and Ellen (nee Peebles) Laird Sr., and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1962.

He married Nancy Felber in Wauwatosa on June 1, 1957; she passed away in 1966. He later married Diane M. Sorce.

Harland was a foreman at Continental Can Co. where he worked for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 49.

Survivors include his mother, Ellen Laird of Saukville; five children, Patricia (Brian) St. Louis of Cudahy, Vicki Hilkert of Milwaukee, Brenda Laird, Laura (James) DeValk of Milwaukee and Clifford Laird of Newburg; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Fischer, James Fischer, Brian Fischer, Nicole Laird, Eric Hilkert, John Scepan, Cieara Button, Tyler DeValk and Andrew Laird; a great-granddaughter, Alishea Laird; four brothers, Stanley (Edna) of Cape Coral, Fla., Roger, Ronald (Irene) of Sussex and Gerald (Christine) of Milwaukee; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father, Harland Laird Sr.; a daughter, Sheri Laird; and two brothers, Terry and James.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend.

Rev. Victor Hackbarth will officiate, and burial will be on Friday at 10 a.m. in West Granville Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
