J. "Cy" Wolf Cyril J. "Cy" Wolf, 73, of Slinger, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Hartford Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1928, in the town of Richfield, to the late John and Anna (Schmitt) Wolf, moved to Slinger when he was 15 years old and graduated from Slinger High School in 1945. After his marriage to Mildred M. "Millie" Gundrum on May 28, 1949, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Slinger, the couple lived in Slinger. He was self-employed at Gundrum Oil Co. of Slinger, division of CyGene Inc., for 17 years. Later he was employed at Dico-Dyneer Co. of Slinger for 20 years, retiring in 1988. Survivors include his wife; eight children, Millie Wolf and Paul (Debra) Wolf, both of Slinger, Mary Lou (Daniel) Benicke of Grafton, Christine (Dennis) Schmidt of Fox Lake, Nancy (John) Bingen of Allenton, Michael (Lynne) Wolf of Slinger, Mark (Karen) Wolf of Oconomowoc, Gary (Kristine) Wolf of Hubertus and Peter Wolf of Hartford; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene (Jack) Spenner of Slinger; four brothers, John (Loretta) of Pewaukee, Bernard (Dolores) of West Bend, Robert (Irene) and Ralph (Shirley), both of Slinger; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were a daughter, Patricia Ann Wolf; four sisters; and three brothers. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger, and an honorary member of the Slinger Fire Department where he served for 25 years and was fire chief from 1965-1977. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger. Father Robert J. Bales will officiate, and interment will be at 10 a.m. on Friday in the (New) St. Peter's Cemetery, Slinger. Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of services, with a fire department walk through at 6 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger, is assisting the family.
