Mr. Allen was born in Wilmington, N.C., but was raised most of his life in Beloit. He resided in Mequon the past 25 years. He worked for 32 years at New York Life Insurance Company. He retired from New York Life as its local General Manager.

Survivors include: wife Edna (nee Pettengill); son Mark (Margaret) Allen of Cedarburg and two granddaughters Julie Allen and Jennifer (Mark) Borkowicz. He was preceded in death by a son, David Allen.

Memorials to Vitas Hospice or Fox Point Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
