Marie F. Monday

Marie F. Monday, nee Mueler, 82, of Big Cedar Lake, formerly of Milwaukee, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.

She was born May 2, 1918, in Milwaukee, to the late Arthur and Marie (nee Dentinger) Mueler.

Marie was a graduate of the former Mercy High School and was a retiree of the city of Milwaukee Nursing Bureau.

She was a long-time, active member of St. Matthias Parish, Nabob, a member of the Christian Women's Confraternity and the Daytimers at Holy Hill.

Marie was the loving wife of 61 years of Charles J. Monday, whom she married on June 21, 1939, in Milwaukee.

She is further survived by four children, Deacon Tom (Sandy) of Menomonee Falls, Gerry (Kathy) of Brookfield, Charlene (Jim) Sanders of West Bend and Jim (Mary) of Port Washington; 13 grandchildren, Bill (Deb) Monday, Chris (Craig) Ploetz, Mike (Ann) Monday, Joe (Virginia) Sanders, Matt (Allison) Sanders, Molly (Ted) Schmidt, Heather Rumppe, Jenny (Steven) Grieb, David (Kim) Monday, Carolyn (Jamie) Conklin, Mark Sanders, Eric Kempfer and Cindy (fiance Chris Schlieder) Monday; 10 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Abby and Charlie Monday, Tony and Genevieve Sanders, Amanda Ploetz, Joshua Rumppe, Brady Conklin, Maxwell Grieb and Madeline Monday; three sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Art.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, at St. Matthias Chapel, Nabob, with Father Alois VanBeek as the presider. Burial will follow in St. Matthias Cemetery.

Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and also at the church on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Memorials to the Cedar Campus Foundation are preferred in lieu of flowers.
