Florence C. Tieglman, 87

Florence C. Tieglman, nee Gerlach, of West Bend, formerly of Newburg, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000 at the Menomonee Falls Health Care Center at the age of 87 years.

She was born on April 9, 1913 in Newberg to the late Oscar and Ella (nee Schultz) Gerlach.

In 1929 she moved to Milwaukee and opened a bakery, which she ran until her marriage to Anton G. Tieglman on June 30, 1934 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg. The couple moved back to Newburg in 1946, and her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1987.

She was a life member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg, the St. John's Ladies Aid and she was a former choir member. She also worked as a volunteer at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.

She is survived by two children, James (Sandy) Tieglman of Milton and Nancy (Alan Ortlieb) Rose of Menomonee Falls; six grandchildren, Lisa (Steve) Koepp of West Bend, Krysta (Al) Schellinger of Iron Ridge, Grant Rose of Menomonee Falls, Denise Rose of Menomonee Falls, Stephanie Miller of Milton, and Heather Miller of Milton; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Koepp, Madelyn Koepp, Brett Schellinger and Mackenzie Schellinger; a sister, Alice Mey of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Leoba Mechelke.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg, and burial will follow in St. John's Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Myrhum- Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, on Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of services.
