O. Ehlke Funeral services were held Friday at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn, for Norman O. Ehlke, 95, who died on Dec. 19, 2000. Burial was held at the church cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements. Mr. Ehlke was born September 20, 1905 in Milwaukee to the late Samuel and Anna (nee Nienow) Ehlke and married Florence Kannenberg on June 20, 1935 at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn. He farmed in the Town of Jackson and was a member at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn. Survivors include his wife Florence of Jackson; daughter Sharon (Paul) Weis of Crystal Lake, Ill.; grandchildren, Jeanne (Paul) Swanson of Mundelein, Ill., Joanne (Mick) Urbanski of Round Lake Beach, Ill., Catherine Weis of Crystal Lake, Ill., Joseph Weis of Wheatridge, Colo., and Caroline (Dean) Gantz of Island Lake, Ill.; brothers; Wilmer (Norma) Ehlke of West Bend, Junior (Beata) Ehlke of Jackson; sisters Erna Gilbert of Jackson, Leona Hilgendorf of Menomonee Falls, and Hildegard (Walter) Eickstedt of Jackson; sister-in-laws; Myrtle Ehlke of Jackson and Lorraine Ehlke of Jackson; 5 great-grandchildren other relatives and friends. Mr. Ehlke was preceded in death by children Virgil and Donna Mae, and brothers Clarence, Alfred and Herbert. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
