Douglas D. "Doug" Ludwig, 66, of West Bend died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend.

He was born to Norman and Dorothy (Dawson) Ludwig of Fond du Lac on April 13, 1934, and was raised in that city. He received his bachelor’s of science degree in engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and was employed by the West Bend Co. for more than 39 years.

He married Betty Ann VanDeBruggen on June 17, 1977 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of West Bend.

Ludwig was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the 25 Year Club of the West Bend Co.

Ludwig is survived by his wife Betty Ann; three children, Michele (George) Pavlovic of Grayslake, Ill., Scott (Mary) Berg of Littleton, Colo., and Chris (Tom) Sawyer of Cottage Grove; four grandchildren, William, Sasha, Danny and Robbie; one sister, Norma Ludwig of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend with Pastor Victor Hackbarth officiating. Interment will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26, at Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend.

Visitation will be at Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, Sunday, Dec. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m.
