Lonie K. Waechter

Lonie K. Waechter, nee Knuth, 90, of Milwaukee, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000.

She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer; dear mother of Merlin (Loretta), the late Ward (Shirley), the late William, Richard Waechter and Carmen Glander. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was the fond sister of Wilfred (Ruth), George (Marlene), Arnold (Trudy), Irene (the late Walter) Reggio, the late Anita (the late Walter) Radue and Irmgard (the late Martin) Pipkorn.

She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Lonie taught Lutheran elementary school for 37 years at the following schools: St. John's in Whitefish Bay, St. John's in West Bend, David's Star in Jackson, St. Paul's in Grafton, Ebeneezer in Milwaukee and at St. Lucas for the last 16 of those years, retiring in 1984.

Lonie was a member of the WLCFS Guild, a charter member of the OWLS Ch. 14, Ladies Aid, LWMS and an honorary member of the St. Lucas Evening Guild.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 23, from noon to 1:45 p.m. at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2605 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., Milwaukee, with funeral services at 2 p.m.

Private interment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

If desired, memorials are suggested to St. Lucas Church or School.

The Prasser-Kleczka Bay View Chapel, South Howell Avenue, is assisting the family.
